One way to identify yourself is with a Rolex fluted bezel. The Oyster bezel’s fluting originally served a practical purpose, allowing the bezel to be screwed into the watch case and assisting in ensuring the watch’s waterproofness. Thus, it was the same as the fluting on the case back, which was likewise secured to the case with special Rolex tools in order to make it waterproof. With time, the fluting evolved into a defining visual component and authentic Rolex trademark. The fluted bezel, always in gold, is a symbol of distinction in modern times.
